Step  Back in Time….

Want to take a true test back in time?  Look no further than the Upper Cumberland.  Home to Historic Cumberland Homesteads.  The homes here were constructed from 1934 to 1938 on second growth timber just south of Crossville, TN.  This area also includes Homesteads Tower and Museum which is an awesome day trip from Deer Creek Cabin.  It’s rich history  includes many artifacts, photographs and archival records donated by local residents.  The octagon structure was constructed in 1937-1938 and includes a winding stairway around a water tank that goes to the top of the 8 story building , that’s shows off the interior stone work that is just beautiful.   When you get to the top you get to enjoy the magnificent views  of the area.  Your also right on top of the Cumberland Mountain State Park.  This incredible park has 1720 acres situated around Byrd Lake, a man-made lake created by Byrd Creek in the 1930’s.  Be sure to take in all the recreational activities this park as to offer, including an 18 hole Bear Trace Golf Course.
