What a great event to attend and it’s right here in our area! The 2nd Annual Celebration of Local food is slated for August 5, 2017. This great event with a farm to fork dinner and a Seed Fork 5K race is very beneficial to everyone that participates. Seed Fork of the Highlands is a non profit organization that teaches cooking workshops, Horticultural Therapy and Farmer’s Markets to the Upper Cumberland Region. The vision is for them to reach out to families and farmers with farm fresh food services. This annual event begins with a 5 K race at 7:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church located in Cookeville, TN. There is also a VIP experience that goes on from 4:00-5:30 p..m. at the BackRoom Bistro. There will be appetizers, beverages and music to enjoy. Then on to dinner at Dogwood Park that will be served at 6:30 p.m. All of this scrumptious food is grown and prepared by local chefs, local farmers and local food people.
