What a beautiful spot to have a picnic, take a walk or just enjoy the scenery.  Laurel-Snow State Natural Area is a beautiful spot to do all of those things and more!.  Located just a few minutes from Deer Creek Cabin or Rocky Top Cabin, Laurel-Snow State Natural Area is pretty to see and enjoy any time of the year.  Just a little history about this great area, is that it was the first National Recreation Trail designated in Tennessee in 1973.  This beautiful place got its name from two of the four waterfalls in the area, Laurel Falls and Snow Falls. This beautiful area is located in the Cumberland Plateau along with several other great parks to see.  Cumberland Trail State Park is a hiking trail following a line of ridges and gorges along the eastern side of the Plateau.  What is quite interesting is that it begins at the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park and ends at the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park.  That is a good distance but a great hike!  There are so many beautiful parks and natural areas to see in the Cumberland Plateau so pick a date, make your reservations for a beautiful cabin and get out and enjoy the scenery!  Its a beautiful time to enjoy in the fall!
