Military Museum of the Cumberlands

The Cumberland County Military Museum is a great place to spend a few hours and get acquainted with the history of the Upper Cumberland area and its veterans.  In 2010, the Carnegie Library building became the home of this museum.  The Cumberland County Historical and Genealogical Society purchased the building with the help of grants, donations and lots of volunteer labor.  The museum was established to honor the veterans from Cumberland County who lost their jobs, families and most importantly their lives for the defense of this county and country.  The museum has a recording studio as well as a viewing room to record oral history and military photos.  It also has many other artifacts that displays the history of the Cumberland Plateau.  Please check the link below for all the information regarding open and closing times.  So while you are enjoying Deer Creek Cabin or Rocky Top Cabin take some time and take a nice ride over to Crossville and enjoy some local history and say “Thank you” to a veteran.
