Hummingbirds are in the Air!

This is so neat!  Everyone loves to watch the hummingbirds in our area and now you can watch them even longer.  Winter hummingbirds are not lost, they are actually very cold hardy and will not be harmed by the cold weather.  Instead, they are actually just looking to survive and migrate where they can do so. Just a little trivia here, did you know that since November of 1990, there have been 287 winter birds of 7 different species banded in Tennessee?  This is a really neat thing to know considering we have so many bird watchers in our area.  So to all you bird watchers out there, put that hummingbird feeder out during the winter months and watch for these beautiful Ruby-throated hummingbirds to show up.  Enjoy the view!  Check out http://TN.Gov/environment/natural-areas for all information regarding on how you can help enjoy and save these beautiful birds.  Make your plans today for a nice relaxing stay at Deer Creek Cabin or Rocky Top Cabin and come on up and enjoy the hummingbirds.
